Find a matching width or height without stretching your image. Calculations happen entirely in your browser.
Calculate proportional dimensions
Enter the original dimensions, then change one target dimension. LumiPixel calculates the other value using the same aspect ratio.
Practical presets
Choose dimensions for the place the image will appear
Presets change the target dimensions directly. They may use a different aspect ratio from your source, so crop the image before resizing if you want to fill the entire frame without distortion.
Avoid distortion
Crop and resize are different operations
Resizing with the aspect ratio locked changes the pixel count while preserving the shape of the image. Cropping removes pixels from the edges and can create a new shape. If a 4:3 photo must become a square, crop it to 1:1 first and then resize it to the required pixel dimensions.
For web delivery, export close to the largest size at which the image will actually be displayed. Oversized images cost more bandwidth; undersized images may look soft when enlarged.
